RockSolid Floors Safe Etch™
The RockSolid Floors Safe Etch™ is one of the most advanced concrete etching products on the market. With all the strength of harsher etches and virtually none of the dangers, it's the perfect concrete preparation product, and is included in every Garage Coat® package.
The vast majority of concrete floors are power-troweled. While this makes the concrete extremely smooth, it also forms a micro-layer that closes up its pores, which keeps protective coatings from adhering properly. Safe Etch™ breaks through this layer, opening up the pores and allowing the Garage Coat® to achieve the adhesion it needs to last a lifetime.
Safe Etch™ is also, as the name suggests, much safer than most other etching products, both for installers and the environment. It has an extremely low odor, making it ideal for any indoor application—while muriatic acids may require a respirator, all you need for Safe Etch™ is a pair of gloves and a little common sense. Safe Etch™ is biodegradable, making it safe to use near lawns or even rinsed off down drains, without harming so much as a blade of grass. It won't even etch your driveway on its way out the door.
With the strength of highly volatile chemicals without the highly volatile risk, RockSolid Floors Safe Etch™ is the ultimate solution.

Garage Coat® Application
1. Concrete Preparation
Before any coating can be added, the pores of your concrete need to be opened up. Most floors are power-troweled before they're coated to smooth them out, which forms a micro-layer that closes these pores and keeps your Garage Coat® from adhering properly. The RockSolid Floors Safe Etch™, included in every Garage Coat® package, solves this problem by breaking up this micro-layer and opening the concrete's pores. Simply mix it with water, pour it evenly on a 10' by 10' section of the floor, and scrub with a stiff bristle broom while it froths. Once the frothing stops, just rinse it off and move on to the next section until your entire floor is etched and ready for coating.

2. Shot, Shake and Pour
Once your floor is etched and dried, a few simple steps ensure that your Garage Coat® is ready for use. Check every pouch you plan to use for clumps or thick spots and massage them out to break them up and blend them into the rest of the package. When they're ready, tear open the top seal, open the resealable seal and pour in the entire Garage Coat Color Tint. Once it's all in there, reseal the pouch, fold it in half and shake it up. After 30-60 seconds of shaking, it should be ready to be poured onto the floor.
3. Roll Out
Once a small amount of the Garage Coat® is poured onto a section of floor, use the RockSolid Foam Roller™ to roll it out in an "M and W" pattern. A little bit goes a long way with the Garage Coat®, so make sure to spread it in a thin layer. Continue to pour it in small amounts and roll it out as needed to cover the entire floor, then reseal the pouch and fold it in half. Because the Garage Coat® is a One Part product, it won't cure in the pouch, but will when rolled out onto the floor in 4-8 hours.
Once you finish each strip of coating, you can start broadcasting the RockSolid Floors Decorative Chip if desired. Grab small pinches of chip and throw them in the air over the wet Garage Coat®. Be as consistent as you can with your broadcast throughout the floor for the most uniform finish possible. Leave a 6"-12" section near the next section to be coated free of chip to ensure your application is seamless.
